3rd year: Appointed Dining Manager

How did you meet Plan-Do-See and what made you decide to join?

It all started during a joint information session held in Tokyo in the winter of my third year of university.
At the time, I was completely focused on soccer and had no interest in job hunting. I had no part-time work experience and didn't know much about society, but my coach told me, "Just get a job offer, even if it's just one company," so I attended the information session partly out of a sense of obligation. To be honest, I was just thinking, "I want to get a job offer from one company as soon as possible and finish my job hunting."

The first booth I visited was Plan-Do-See.
From then on, my life began to change dramatically.

I've been devoted to soccer for as long as I can remember, but my encounter with Plan-Do-See was the first time I felt truly excited about something other than soccer. I still vividly remember the intuition I had at the information session that "my life will be enriched here."

It wasn't an easy decision to quit soccer after 18 years, but because we only have one life, I decided to "go in the direction that makes my heart leap." So I decided to put an end to my soccer career and take on a new challenge by joining Plan-Do-See.

What kind of work are you doing now?

He currently works as a restaurant manager at FORTUNE GARDEN KYOTO in Kyoto.

However, just because I have the title of "Manager" doesn't mean the actual work itself changes significantly. With hundreds of customers visiting our store every day, I'm always thinking about how to ensure each and every one of them feels the value of our service, and how to best convey the appeal of FORTUNE GARDEN KYOTO and Plan-Do-See.

You only live once, so live your life to the fullest.

What are the moments in your work that you feel are rewarding?

"I'll do my best for someone" or "I'll push myself a little harder and get through this" -- that's when I feel that way.
This feeling eventually leads to customer satisfaction, and at the end they smile and say "Thank you" and "I'll come again." Moments like this are the joy that can only come from this job.

Of course, there are many things that don't go well in our daily lives. However, by facing these challenges and overcoming them without running away, new growth is born. And that growth in turn leads to smiles on the faces of our customers and coworkers. I feel that this cycle enriches my life.

There are many colleagues at this company who are just as positive and enjoy taking on new challenges, and the mere fact that I can work with such people is a great reward for me.

You only live once, so live your life to the fullest.

Please tell us about the atmosphere and appeal you feel after actually working here.

It's just so charming.

All the members who work here treat each other with love and truly care about the store and its products. They also believe more than anyone else in the great future that lies ahead, and continue to run at full speed with excitement in their hearts. I am inspired every day by this attitude.

Furthermore, I am surrounded by many talented juniors, peers who are always motivating me, and great seniors who make me think, "I want to be like this person" or "I want to surpass this person." Being in this environment makes me want to work harder.

The people who work here have the desire to "enrich the lives of everyone they meet, even if just a little." I feel that the greatest attraction of working at Plan-Do-See is being able to work surrounded by such colleagues.

You only live once, so live your life to the fullest.

Please tell us about your future vision.

When I made the big decision to quit soccer, I was excited to find out about Plan-Do-See and jumped into this world. Looking back, I can proudly say that it was the right choice, and I feel that I am now living a very fulfilling life.

That's why I want to give more people opportunities to interact with Plan-Do-See. And I want those interactions to enrich their lives. Providing these kinds of experiences and value is the future I envision.

I want PDS Dining to be the first bridge between these two. I want to continue to create a restaurant where the people I work with can be proud and confident in talking about it to anyone.
