How did you first encounter Plan-Do-See? What was your vision at the time?
I played handball all through my school days, and the people around me who played sports were looking for stable companies like banks and insurance companies, so I vaguely thought that I would follow that path too. Then, I attended a joint job fair and happened to visit the Plan-Do-See (PDS) booth, which reminded me that this is what I wanted to do. My first encounter with PDS reminded me that since I was a child, my mother used to take me to cafes and restaurants near our house as a reward, and I loved those places and vaguely thought that I wanted to run a restaurant like that in the future. Then, when I thought about what I wanted to do again, I decided that I wanted to create a space that people would be happy with, so that I could provide others with what I experienced when I was a child.
After that, when I looked back on my life, I realized that rather than standing out, I was happy when people said to me, "I'm glad Chiho is here," and I was attracted to PDS's code of conduct, "I am one of the customers." Wanting to know more about the company, I actually visited a PDS store and felt that I could truly love every single thing, including the menu, glasses, cutlery, and the way the drinks were served. I thought that if I could truly love a product like that, I could deliver it to customers. At that time, I felt excited that my future would be rich. I wanted to open a restaurant at PDS, so my vision at the time was to deliver such a beloved place to many customers as a dining member.
What makes you glad you joined PDS
Honestly, everything (laughs). My life has been enriched overall, and I think I've grown as a person. I think the company has helped me grow as a person, and PDS pays attention to every single thing, everything has meaning behind it, and there are a lot of people I can respect working there, so it makes me want to be like them.
At PDS, we have a goal setting interview once every six months, so I feel like I wouldn't have come this far if I hadn't set goals, and I don't think there are any other companies that offer this kind of opportunity. I think it's great that I can imagine what I want to become in each interview, run with them, and work hard towards my goals. The stage changes, but I think the best thing about it is that I can always enjoy every day because I can always contribute to customers, members, and others.
What kind of company is PDS?
In one word, it's "love." I think it's a company that's overflowing with love. They're overflowing with love for both their customers and their members, and they're so involved and think from the customer's point of view, but they're not egoistic or pushy, and they're able to make suggestions that are comfortable for the person. I think the effort and attitude they put into adapting what's great now to the times and making it something that can be confidently recommended is overflowing with love.
What does PDS mean to me?
They help me grow and teach me about unknown and fun worlds. There are many respectable people working here who have things that I don't have, and it's not like they're told how things should be, but rather they're all working hard towards their own goals, which is very stimulating for me. Also, not only the employees but the company itself is constantly challenging itself, so I think they're taking action to fulfill the needs of customers without being tied down by what they're doing now.
Future Vision
To put it simply, I want to prove that we are the best company in the world. I also want to be a part of making PDS stronger. To put it more simply, my life has been enriched by meeting PDS, so I want to increase the number of people who feel that they have been enriched by meeting PDS. If that happens, I believe that there will definitely be more people who find life fun, and the world will be filled with "hospitality."
Right now, as the bridal manager at Luigans, I still have some worries, but I think now is the most fun time, and I want to always be someone who can inspire the customers and team members who are involved with Luigans to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
