A restaurant at the Oriental Hotel, Japan's oldest Western-style hotel
The Oriental Hotel is Japan's first Western-style hotel, established in 1870 in the heart of a city where exotic culture blossomed and was hailed as "the most beautiful settlement in the Orient." After closing due to the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, it reopened in 2010 as "a hotel that weaves history beyond time," inheriting the spirit of its name. It has walked its path through the past, supported by the city of Kobe, and is paving the way for the future. Together with the smiles of the people who gather here, we will create a new story.
MAIN DINING by THE HOUSE OF PACIFIC

This all-day dining restaurant features an open kitchen where you can see the chefs in action and enjoy freshly cooked dishes.
With a focus on Italian cuisine, the restaurant elevates Western and grilled dishes into modern, minimalist, exquisite dishes.
Other recommended dishes include a dish made with Kasumi crab from Hyogo Prefecture, and the oriental beef curry, which has been made using the same recipe since the restaurant first opened.
THE BAR J.W. Hart

This bar enjoys a fantastic location with city views that only a high-floor location can offer.
This lounge is named after JW Hart, a key figure in developing the former foreign settlement, which was undeveloped land in the early Meiji period.
During bar hours, you can enjoy the night view of Kobe that spreads out across the entire window. During the day, the bar operates as a cafe.

Staff Interview

A place to discover a new you
I started working here because I wanted to make use of the language skills I had acquired while studying abroad. At first, I was confused by the tense atmosphere at the hotel, but thanks to the support of my coworkers, I was able to grow every time I came to work. In addition to language skills, you can acquire a comprehensive range of skills required in the workplace, such as the ability to broaden your horizons and act flexibly, and the ability to communicate smoothly regardless of age. I'm sure you too will find a new you while growing with new colleagues in a new place!

You won't just learn about alcohol
My experience as a bartender in Hokkaido sparked my interest in the bar world and made me want to work in a place where I could grow even more. At first, I was confused by the atmosphere of the bar and couldn't provide the service I wanted, but with the support of kind colleagues and customers, I was able to provide the service I wanted little by little.
Here, you can acquire a wide range of skills, including communication skills, attention to detail and flexible response to each customer, and language skills such as English and Chinese. We have an environment where you can work happily while growing!

Growing every day!!
I came here as a university student with no part-time work experience whatsoever. At first, I was very nervous about interacting with customers, but thanks to the guidance of my seniors and the support I received from customers, I began to want to make more customers satisfied. By pursuing services that please customers, I think it's a great environment where you can grow not only as a service person, but also as a person!
