Reason for changing jobs from previous job
When I joined the company as a new graduate, I worked in apparel sales.
Based on the concept of a customer-centric designer brand, we were responsible for everything from ordering products to in-store displays, customer service, and sales management, and I found it very rewarding to be involved in everything from "upstream to downstream" - from product selection to when the products reach the customers.
I set myself the goal of becoming the youngest assistant manager and achieving results at a store with the highest sales in the country, and I ran headlong toward that goal. However, when I achieved that goal, I suddenly stopped and asked myself, "Is this really the right thing to do?"
While I felt a sense of security about the career path that was in front of me, I also felt something was missing.
In particular, I began to feel my own limitations in delivering value to customers through "things" that had already been commercialized.
I wanted to do a job where I could interact more deeply with each individual customer and create value from scratch - that's when I started to think about it, and that's when I came across the world of weddings.
I was captivated by a wedding space I came across by chance on social media, and was strongly attracted to the freedom and creativity that comes with an intangible product, being able to create a space from scratch just for a customer.
I felt that this job would allow me to give shape to my own ideas and proposals and be deeply involved in the lives of my customers.
So when I thought about where I wanted to hold the wedding, the first place that came to mind was the ORIENTAL HOTEL in Kobe (hereinafter referred to as OHK)
.
I often visited the hotel with friends and I loved the atmosphere and space, and every time I visited I would think, "It would be great to work in a place like this."
As I researched the company again, I learned that all of the places I had chosen for special occasions, such as THE GARDEN ORIENTAL OSAKA in Osaka, which I loved at the time, and 6TH BY ORIENTAL HOTEL in Tokyo, were spaces designed by Plan・Do・See (hereinafter referred to as PDS). This made me realize that "I really do love this worldview."
Furthermore, as I researched the wonderful wedding planners that I wanted to be like, I discovered that they were from PDS, and I knew that this was the place for me.
I had absolutely no doubts. Working at PDS had become an unwavering pillar of my life.
What is the appeal of Plan-Do-See?
I decided to join PDS with the conviction that the spaces they create are "authentic" and that I would be able to work with confidence here, but the appeal I felt after actually joining the company far exceeded my imagination. I had always thought that PDS was wonderful, but the reason why they can create such wonderful spaces and products became clearer and clearer as I worked there. PDS has a code of conduct that says "I am one of the customers." In order to truly embody this, the headquarters does not decide on products and services uniformly, but rather the decision is made by the field members who are actually involved with customers. For example, the planners themselves select partner companies that they believe to be "the best in the city" for items that customers see, flower companies, camera companies, and even wedding favors, and the entire team checks the quality of the food every month, and they are thorough in asking "can we make it even better?" Every day was a series of surprises for me, as they go to such lengths because they are serious about pursuing the "happiness" of their customers. And above all, I was overwhelmed by the high level of enthusiasm of all the team members on-site, and while working, the members always talked about OHK, not themselves, and they took the responsibility of "this is my store" seriously. Seeing that, I thought, "I can't take it half-heartedly in this environment," and decided to seriously face both the customers and the team members. Looking back now, I think that was a major turning point in my life.

What I find rewarding about my work
It's been six years since I joined PDS, and I feel an immeasurable sense of fulfillment every day. When I was a planner, I was able to be involved in the "once in a lifetime special day" of many customers. At PDS weddings, we set aside a "personal meeting" as the first meeting. Before talking about what to do, we first listen to the couple's thoughts about "why they are having a wedding." This is what we value most. That's why it's a time when you can see feelings that you haven't noticed before, and remember the people and values that you cherish. Even if it's not directly related to the wedding day, the expressions and words of the couple that come to mind after that time have been a great reward for me.
Also, there was a moment when a groom who said at first that he was "not very interested in weddings" was deeply moved by the warmth of his family on the day. I think that such changes of heart and indescribable atmospheres are born "only at weddings". And PDS provides a "place to return to" that will be with you not only on the wedding day, but for the rest of your life. So that the important time for the couple will continue after the wedding. I think that being able to build relationships that are connected by "lines" rather than dots is also a big attraction and a rewarding job. Every time a customer says "I'm glad I did the wedding after all" or "I was really happy", I feel truly glad that I am doing this job, and those words have been my driving force.

What is your future VISION?
Before I changed jobs, I felt uncomfortable with the idea of the future being too clear, so the biggest attraction of PDS is that the future is "unclear in a good way." Because we are constantly in the midst of change and challenges, I continue to be excited about my own future and the company's future. Since joining the company, I have been fortunate to have been given a variety of opportunities. While interacting with customers as a planner, I have also been able to utilize my experience in apparel to design the planner uniforms for the entire company and to be involved in the creation of wedding gift items selected by brides and grooms. Before I knew it, I had made a major shift in my way of thinking from the confines of "bridal" to asking myself, "What can I do to enrich the lives of the customers in front of me?"
Now, as a human resources worker, I am in a position to convey the charms of Plan-Do-See to students, and I feel rewarded by being able to speak from my heart about my beloved company. To be honest, I don't know yet what experiences I will have or where I will go from here. However, because this company has many fields where I can challenge myself, I want to be the person who is always ready to raise my hand to say "I want to do it" while doing my best in the things in front of me. And just as my life was enriched by meeting Plan-Do-See, I want to increase the number of people who can have the same experience - this is my current VISION.
